STARS Performing Arts has a home!

Over the last two years, we have been fortunate enough to rehearse, perform, and learn at a variety of community and private spaces. Through the generosity of our community, we have quickly outgrown this model and are ready for our own space. We are thrilled to announce that we’ve signed a lease on an 1800 square foot flex space in Tysons! This exciting new chapter means that we’re in the position to expand our programming, offering more classes, camps, workshops, and performances for theatre lovers of all ages. This building is outfitted with a scene shop, two private lesson rooms, a loft, and two large rooms that will become a rehearsal space and a small blackbox theatre.

Before we can begin offering these new opportunities to our students, we need some help turning this empty space into a top-notch facility. We’re in need of seating, mirrors, storage, and technology to make this a space that feels like home for our community. Any contribution makes a difference. If financial giving isn’t in the cards for you, join our volunteer list to be notified when we need support loading in, painting, or organizing. All donors and volunteers for this campaign will be honored as founding supporters on the wall in the lobby of our new space.

As we move into this next chapter, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the people in our community who made our work possible for the past two years. We are especially grateful for the generosity of the following groups and individuals who opened their doors to us at little to no cost and allowed our programming to grow: Rev. Dr. Katie Phillips, Rev. Kevin Phillips, and the Vine Church, Julie Maher and the Great Falls Grange Foundation, and the Amiri family and the Montessori School of Fairfax. We are also grateful for the staff at all the community centers, parks, and libraries who stayed late to lock up after us and put up with noise complaints about our students’ singing. Additionally, we are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our STARS community. This community has built us into what we are today, and we hope to be able to use this space to provide more opportunities and expand our work.
